one of my friends on facebook sent me a link in my inbox, and it said "hey you're on the news". instead of using my brain and deleting it, i opened it like an idiot. so well of course i got the virus, and it started sending links containing the virus continously to all my friends.
so all my friends started sending me messages complaining abt it, so i thought that the best solution would be to deactivate my account and create a new one. So i created a new account yesterday after i deactivated my old one, and i was happy to see that no links were sent to anyone for 2 hours. now(the next day) i came back from school and logged on to fb, and all was fine. 5 minutes later i go on again and i find that fake links were sent to all my friends!! :(
plz help me, what do i do??
i don't have anti-virus on my computer

I had to get rid of this virus from my home computer after my sister made the same mistake you did. It's funny how easy it is to see that clicking the link was a bad idea afterwards. xD

Here's what you need to do. There's no need to do a full system restore as the only thing that's causing you a problem is the actual virus. And the trials from Norton have caused me personally a lot of problems in the past, not being compatible with my system and forcing me to take my laptop to the tech people at my school, so I would only recommend using that as a last resort. First, go to http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php Download the free version. Then you need to either first do a quick scan to get rid of the initial problem and then do a full scan, or you can just do a full scan. This will find the virus(es) for you. Once it's done scanning, there will be an option to "remove selected items". Do this with every malicious program that Malwarebytes finds. Once everything's been removed, there shouldn't be a problem anymore, but you need to first update and then run the program regularly after that to prevent this from happening again. At the very least you need to do a quick scan once a week, since you have no other anti-virus protection.

Once your computer has been saved from the virus in the way described above, go on to Facebook. Delete all the posts you can find that have the links in them. Don't click on the links again. =P You should do this to keep the virus from continuing to spread, so that more of your friends don't get it. You may or may not also want to post something warning your friends, such as putting your status message to "has been hacked. Please don't open anything from me." And finally, you need to change your FB password in case part of the virus' programming or the link involved phishing. You didn't have to make a new account though. The virus was on your computer, as you already know. :)

I don't know whether its something that infected your computer or not but if it is, Norton antivirus 2010 has a free trial.

http://www.symantec-norton.com/Norton_Antivirus_2010_(Free_30-Day_Trial)_p69.aspx?par=goo_usft_norton_antivirus_free_trial&gclid=CIC-7JeT4J0CFQEhDQodbkcxNw

You have to give them your credit card # because they will charge at the end of the month if you don't cancel your subscription. But canceling is easy just don't delete any of the emails they send you (you can cancel your subscription right after you download it and you'll still get the free month). If there is a virus on your computer norton will most likely get rid of it.

Also when you give them your card information a $1.00 charge will show up as pending from them, but it never gets charged.

If you don't want to give out your card info then you can try Spybot, Its free but it doesn't work as well as norton

Do a system restore.

Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore

This tool will restore your computer to the way it was on whichever day you choose to restore it to. Choose a date LONG before you think you got the virus. Don't worry, you won't loose any data.

After you've done that, get some free anti-virus to keep yourself safe in the future. I like AVG. The free version works fine.

Now if i was you...

Change your mailbox password...

firstly..

Then I would get a virus program you can get free programs like

avg from: See source!

Now I would recommend mcafee because they are not as resource intensive as other virus programs and in my opinon better but just as good at that....
