I wanted to send a friend request on Facebook to someone I have many mutual friends with, but there's no "Add Friend" button. Why?

There is no Add Friend button, only Message, even though we have many mutual friends. The Add Friend button WAS THERE a month ago, now its gone. How could this be?

I know this person still has the Add Friend button as I had a friend go to the profile and she could add him as a friend, but I can not. Is there a way to blockone person from sending a friend request without actually blocking the person?

OK what I read & search on the Internet that when you have mutual friend privacy hidden or can see friend list...if you sent a friend request to someone you don't & he marked you as spam while trying to add him or other one you can still see his page (not block) but can't add him for certain time... the only to this either block him for certain time or send a message to Facebook providing a proof that your account it not spam to undo so you can re-add the people you want... I hope this helps

She may have gotten rid of the friend request option. The best thing to do would be to send them an email.

the person denied your previous request, and facebook asked them "do you know this person in real life?" and they clicked "no" - that makes it so you will never be able to send them another request

Maybe socialize with them in real life instead of facebook...
