Question:
I just got a weird message on Facebook and don't know if it's true...?

A friend on facebook just sent me this, i can't tell if it's true or not... does anyone know for sure?

Lately there have been many members complaining that Facebook
is becoming very slow. Record shows that the reason is
that there are too many non-active Facebook members.
And on the other side too many new Facebook members.
We will be sending this message around to see if the
Members are active or not. If you're active please send
to 15 other users using Copy+Paste to show that you are active.
Those who do not send this message within 2 weeks,
the user will be deleted without hesitation to create more space.
If Facebook is still overpopulated we kindly ask for donations but until then send this message to your friends and make sure you send
this message to show me that you're active and not deleted.

Basically, it a chain letter. I got one about a month or two ago, not exactly the same...but similar wording. Don't send it on, its just annoying- its pretty much the same thing as sending something that says 'send it to # people and the press the F6 key and the name of your true love will appear, and if you don't you'll have bad luck forever or something really really really bad will happen".

Chain letters are simply annoying. If you don't send it on, and just delete it, there will be at least...15 other users...who are saved the annoyance of this.

Most Likely it is a False notifcation Contact Facebook at the Help Center and Report the problem to them

Honestly I don't think so. I'm not sure though. The reason I think this isn't true is because I got a message of youtube that basically said the same thing (pertaining to youtube though).

If anyone thinks Myspace does not know when people logged on last, they need to get a new brain. Advise your friend to get one. This is a chain letter. Do not reply. do not click any links. Do not forward it. Send a copy to the abuse department of Myspace including a copy of the full header.

IT has typical spam wording the "please send to 15 other users using Copy+Paste" is a give away that it is spam. ie it's a fake so just delete it.

Here is some discussion on it
