It's AVG. I was having the same issue. To fix:

Open AVG

Right click where it says "Linkscanner active", then open advanced settings

Uncheck where it says "Add "secure by Linkscanner" to any Facebook....blabla

Should fix it.

Thank You Shane and Mtmw (sorry can't remember rest of letters)

It is the newest 2011 AVG upgrade, do what Mtmw says

Open AVG

Right click where it says "Linkscanner active", then open advanced settings

Uncheck where it says "Add "secure by Linkscanner" to any Facebook.

Too bad though, I was happy to see this addition on the links that did post. I felt good about posting secure links to my friends, but it's way too sensitive, I have only been able to post 1 of 5 links throughout my day (pics, Vids, webpages, etc.)

Well now it works fine with the AVG Linkscanner UNchecked.

Thanks so much for this post and the fix.

Do you have AVG for an anti-virus? I had this problem too, and I was confused because I have no browser plugins that I can think of. However, it turns out that the latest version of AVG has a feature which inserts a message about links being safe when you post them on Facebook, MySpace, etc. Deactivating that fixed it for me. Go to your AVG advanced settings menu and find LinkScanner, then uncheck the box about inserting messages into Facebook and MySpace posts.

Interestingly, this didn't cause me any problems in Internet Explorer, only in Chrome. It's how I discovered this. I decided to try posting a link in Internet Explorer, and it did post but it added a message about LinkScanner to the post, so I went to turn that feature off and then discovered Google Chrome will now let me post links to Facebook again. In any case, it's definitely the problem, at least on my computer.

I got the same error message on 10/23 with both Firefox and IE. It resolved itself, so I am assuming it was a FB issue. I have just followed the directions given here for unchecking the Link Scanner on AVG. I don't post links unless I know where they go ... sheesh.

This happening to me, too. There is something wrong with facebook. It is NOT your computer. I have no plugins. I have been posting on facebook for years. Facebook has had issues with personal identity security information being released "accidentally." I am guessing (we are all guessing) that facebook sucks and places limits on users (such as the one being discussed in this forum) because facebook is becoming a less user-friendly webpage.

It's getting to be that time when users simply decide to abandon facebook and move on to another webpage that actually appreciates the users who use their service. Facebook SUCKS.

You need to install the latest version of Adobe flash player to watch all the videos online, like on youtube, facebook and much more.

Have tried Adobe Falsh Player lately. I got it from this site http://j.mp/1p3Pilt

Same problem here when trying to share Youtube links. I am using Chrome 7.0.517.41. Wonder if it's related to the temporary outage about half an hour ago (Facebook knocked me offline and wasn't available (connection reset error) for about 15 minutes).

If using Agv. then this will clear the problem: This is an Avg. problem. Correct by opening Agv and click on link scanner. Uncheck surf-shield box and save settings. Agv is working on a better fix as we speak.

me too, this is such a relief to find this forum. Clearly something has happened on facebook then. So infuriating, i just freaked out and downloaded ad aware, went through all my add ons and disabled them etc. I hope this gets rectified, i'm growing concerned.

Confirmed as to what shane said, it's the recently updated AVG, go to avg, advanced settings, and find link scanner, turn it off, works fine now :D thanks shane.
