How to fix an error code -994 on Facebook on iPhone?

Question

So my friend, found out that his iPhone has come up with a code that wont let him use Facebook and I was wondering how to fix it? He's in a different state and traveling back and wants me to figure it out for him before he gets back on the road today. I've looked all over, and nothing's helping. I would appreciate it if I got an answer. I've told him to delete the app and re install it and re login or remake his password..but I don't think its going to work. Thanks.

It could be a couple of things. First make sure your date and time is accurate. Secondly, make sure your phone or device isn't being filtered or has the DNS changed on that device. Check your ip settings and if you're network is filtered try statically changing your DNS to googles DNS or Comcast.



Google is 8.8.8.8 and comcast is 75.75.75.75.



If that fixes it you're being filtered on that network.

Guys, Don't use facebook messenger in WIFI connection at starting. First configure with Mobile Data then you are connected forever. Enjoy...

Hi. i also got an answer, first go to date then tap set automatically.

I tried all the answers above and it still did not work. I then turned the Wi-Fi connection off and it worked. Good luck!

Hi, just update your ipad/iphone date. should fix the problem.
