When you poke someone, a poke icon will appear on his or her Home page with the option to "Hide Poke" or "Poke Back."

Next time that person longs on they are notified that you poked them.. they are given the choice to poke you back or hide the poke. There is no real point to it, kind of just a way to say hello, or let someone know you noticed them. Most poeple dont use it. On the other end of the spectrum people have poke wars. Consistantly poke one another everytime they log on until someone accidently or purposely hides the poke. You can look at it as fun, or lame. The loser I am have been in a poke war for over a year now with someone.

pokes are pretty dumb. the next time that person logs in, they just see that u poked them and they can poke u bak. however, if u poke someone who's not your friend then that person can see your profile for about a week

They get a notification that you poked them. That is all.

Nothing, it is just to have something that myspace doesn't.
