Hi I'm new to Facebook, and I was wondering what the difference was between "like" and "share" on anothers post. Seems like when I "like" a post, I automatically share it with my friends list. Why does that happen when I don't choose "share" ? Is there a way to let a friend know I "like" their post without automatically sharing that post with my friends list?

When you like a picture it may show up on your friends newsfeed. When you share something it will appear on your timeline and now your friends can like your photo :)

A lot of the time when you like a post it can show up on a friends news feed that you liked it, but if you share the post it appears as if it's sort of your own post, and will definitely be on your friends news feed. Just pressing the like button should not share it! :) Hope it helps!

Friend...If you click like button on photo, it means you liked it and shows you have liked a photo in friends news feed. If you click share button it shares the photo to your friends news feed. So your friends can view that photo..Good luck..!!
