I am writing a book about the different styles of shoes. I want to ask women their favorite shoe and ask for a picture of the shoe. So I think that if I contact a diverse group, I will choose about 100 to share their stories. I have a contract for the 100 selected to sign and will give them a book and give them $10 gift card for using their picture. But how do I contact them? How do I get addresses, etc.

Hi.

All You need to do is get a cheap 8 foot long folding table from Your local Home Depot ($35US) & print up a few signs that explain what You're trying to do, then rent a small foot-traffic (hahaha) space in the local mall.

The women may even approach You, especially if You're near the best shoe store in the mall (Rich glamorously flamboyant women usually love their pics taken) & njust maske sure it's a generic mall gift card instead of a Visa or something.

You can say You're buying them lunch for their story / pair. And if You expand the book with more (Like a story when they were wearing them & something happened that made them the "Lucky pair", etc.) then You cabn increase the gift card to $25 or something equal.

One commonly used method begins with all the area codes in the US and then identifies all the exchanges within each area code. After this is done, a computer is programmed to dial a four-digit random sequence of numbers which is added to each combination of area code and telephone exchange. The actual number of respondents in any code is determined by the actual number of telephone numbers assigned in the geographic area for which the area code is used. This technique is called "random digit dialing." It has a major advantage over, for example using a telephone book to identify a sample-people with unlisted telephone numbers might be contacted. A major disadvantage is, however, that large numbers of telephone numbers in any area code/exchange combination might be unassigned or are business rather than home numbers. Often five calls must be made to get one working residential number.
