is facebook hacking illegal?

I was sent a Facebook hacking tool and posted it on Twitter it is McAfee approved and I can look the tool up on Google I just want to know if it is illegal to have such a tool to hand as to use it I have to sign into Facebook and it even has a like us on Facebook option.

If you were to use it to hack facebook, Even if its your own account thats illegal. And what other reason would there be to have it?

This is likely a scam, having the to on your computer isn't illegal, using it is.
