Same happened to me. They aren't letting u approve it so u have to go and add them urself and then it confirms it. Just go to edit profile, friend and fam, and add them! It worked for me now!

If you go to edit your profile and add the person as a family yourself then it will show up on your profile - so if someone adds you, delete the request and add them on your profile - I think it will automatically approve it because facebook knows that the person sent you a request (at least that's what happened for me).

Same here. I even filed a bug report on Facebook...but they still haven't fixed it. Pretty amazing to me as it's such an obvious and repeatable bugs...it just doesn't work, period...

Go into your profile editing area under "Friends and Family." Type in the person's name, and then select the relation. Then save the changes. Facebook will then accept the request, and list this person on your profile.
For some reason, Facebook will not currently allow you to "accept" a request; uncertain as to why.
