To block a website,
you can edit the file C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts using notepad.
Another easy way for you to block websites is to install a web filter software which can work on most browsers on your computer. You can add unwanted websites and applications to the blacklist with this web filter. More info about web filter.

You can also go to your router and add the websites to a block list, but this will only work when you are using that router; if you have a laptop and go to another person's network, those websites will be accessible once again. You can also edit the HOSTS file. You can also block websites with a firewall. TonyRB Sunday, December 13, 2009
