Question:
What's the difference between "like" and "share" on Facebook?
?

I'm a little confused. Yesterday I "liked" a post a friend sent to me, but I didn't "share" it. Today a person on my friends list said "hey, nice post" about the post I "liked" but didn't intentionally "share" it with my group. How did she know I "liked" someone elses post and how did it get to her Facebook page from me just by me "liking" it?

If your friend sent it to you, did they post it on your timeline? That's happened to me, someone sent me a pic and it went to my timeline.

"Liking" it doesn't do anything, except the fact that someone will look at it and it will say "(This person) and (This many people) liked this post."

But sharing it, depending on how you do it, will go to your all your FB friends News Feed. You can chose to share something with all of your friends, one friend, or just put it on your timeline.

I hope this helps.

The Like button let's you share a link to your Timeline and in News Feed in one click

The Share button lets you write something about a link and choose the audience you want to post to

Very confusing. When someone I know likes a link. I get the entire link. When they share a link. I get the same thing. There seems to be no difference to me. No one has explained the difference intelligently to me yet.
