Will the account be automatically deleted? Is it possible? Or other possible conequences?

One of my friend's other friend passed away because of car accident. The late person has shown
"† 10th October 2010 † in her Facebook status? Who did that? Only the Facebook account holder can update his or her facebook status? How can she update her Facebook status after she passed away?

Anyway , i feel sorry for her even though i never met her in person

Facebook, believe it or not, has a service where next of kin can call up and set the page as a memorial for loved ones. I don't know the exact details of how it works but read an article about it earlier this year.

that's a good question. i actually thought about that the other day, but only as a hypothetical. i'm sorry about your friend. i think a friend or family member accessed the account. or they contacted facebook to do it. i don't imagine it would be automatically deleted unless specifically asked for it by the family.

How would Facebook know that person passed away? They dont, You or someone else will have to log into it and delete it.

And im sorry to hear about her death

It doesn't do it automatically. Someone got a hold of her account and put that up on there.

It's a fact. Unless you want to believe it's a ghost. rofl.

RIP.
