Hello there, the same thing happened to me 2 days ago. For no apparent reason FB decided to lock me out. I've had this account for over 3 years with no problem. I don't change my password often, I have a picture of myself and my family on the cover... I post maybe once a week... What pisses me of is the lack of consideration. No real explanation as to why after 3 years they would think I am a fake person. Meanwhile my friends are posting on my page, my FB is still active and I cannot access. I am being bullied by this juggernaut with no way of ever getting in touch with anyone to find out what happened and why they arbitrarily decided to lock me out. I was not asked to provide ID when I created my FB page in the first place! Bullies



@ Ash, I agree with you, I just wish I could tell my friends I will no longer use FB! I too was a victim of identity theft, if only someone would personally reply to me!

And me since yesterday evening. Happened with both fb and Instagram. Sooo frustrating.

Have emailed and am waiting....not so patiently!

Do we just need to open new accounts? As the other one is now just in limbo.

HI GUYS! SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME! ITS BEEN TWO DAYS SINCE MY FACEBOOK HAS "BLOCKED" ME OUT. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT ONLY NOW I HAVE HAD TO SEND FACEBOOK A PICTURE OF MY PASSPORT TO IDENTIFY MY ACCOUNT! CRAZY I KNOW! HOPEFULLY I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE EXPERIENCING THIS FAULT. ALSO MY INSTAGRAM HAS BEEN BLOCKED AS WELL. JUST THOUGHT I WOULD TELL YOU OF WHAT WOULD HAPPEN NEXT! XXX

I am in the same situation....just happened out of the blue yesterday afternoon. It's been over 24 hours and I have not received an email. I tried to go on Facebook and reset my password, which I did but then got the dreaded "we will send you an email" message. Wonder when that email will come. In the meantime, I am locked out and I don't like it one bit!

Yeah joos. They don't send you the email, though, that's the thing. Even after 24 hours.

I am locked out as well. I did not sign the class action but I did get the email regarding it. After much research I have tried a few things with no luck.



1. Waited 4 hours for email (still haven't received it).

2. Looked for known problems on Facebook's help desk, not much help there.

3. Reported the problem.

4. Scanned my computer for any known malware.

5. Changed my password.



At this point, I think that it is definitely a Facebook issue and not something that we have caused. I was happy to see that I am not the only one experiencing these difficulties.



EDIT: 1/21/13: Facebook sent me the same email that it has sent others, asking for a color copy of a government issued ID. I understand that it is "legit" but I have already dealt with identity theft and I am in no way sending them a copy of my DL. I think that they have lost their minds- ESPECIALLY a color copy. I would rather go without Facebook (however sad of a day that is) than to send them my ID. I'm only sad that I can't post something on my page stating that I am not able to log into my account.

After 6 or 7 years with Face book with no problems, I was suddenly locked out of my

account a week ago without any warning or explanation except a notice saying my

account was temporarily locked for security reasons.



I tried changing my password but got the same answer.



I then tried creating another but couldn't use my normal emails or mobile number as they

are associated with my original account.

I tried using the email address on my family tree web site but Facebook never sent

the confirmation code and the profile was also locked.



I then set up two new email addresses, one with yahoo and one with mail.com and set

up a profile with one of these for which I got the confirmation code and thought all

was OK but I still wanted my original profile back.



I then found this second emeregency profile locked as well, but this time I at last

got an email from Facebook saying I had multiple profiles and asking for ID.

I sent the ID several times but they unlocked my second temporary profile not my

original one.



I complained again and sent my ID again and this time they unlocked the other

temporary profile leaving me with two profiles but not the one I want.



I then deleted one of these profiles hoping this might encourage Facebook to give me

my original 7 year old profile back which has all my 20 Friends and holiday photos

from 2009 to date.



I even found the email address or Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, wrote to

him sending all the info and ID and actually got a reply regretting my problem with

instruction to send the account name and password used with the email address (I can

always change both later) which I did along with my ID again!

Since then nothing has happened, so I have written to him again with still no reply

so far.

I know this happened to me this morning around 10:00am, It asked me for my email address, full name and date of birth. after i did that it came up with.. Thank you

You should receive an email from us soon. We appreciate your patience as we complete this process. I checked my emails expecting an email, no email each time i have tried to log in today i have been unsuccessful. It has been over 6 hours now and this is just getting ridiculous. this is really annoying i am wanting to get on to my facebook. i don't know if this is your experience but i would like to know if this is anyone's.

Been having the same issue since Sat night - so been over 24hrs. I have filed a bug report with them. Nothing back. This is incredibly frustrating.



Ok guys this is now the email I am getting: We apologize for any inconvenience, but the only way we will be able to reopen this account is if you submit a color image of your government-issued photo ID confirming your full name and date of birth.



If you do not have a government-issued photo ID, we will accept a copy of a photo ID (ex: work or school ID) and a copy of a government-issued document verifying your name and age (ex: a birth certificate). We will permanently delete these documents after we resolve your issue.



Please visit www.facebook.com from a computer and log into your account. You will then be asked to submit your ID.

How legit is this?? are you guys submitting passports and driver's license?? this seems a little nuts to me.

FYI - My wife had the same problem. She finally got an email from FB after more than 24 hours. It basically said she would need to provide a photo ID showing her birth date in order to verify her account. Based on these FB articles (http://www.facebook.com/help/385569904840341/) it seems as though they are legitimately verifying her address. We feel like we know why so we have submitted what they requested. Now we wait for another email...and presumably continued access to her profile. Will post back when we hear something...

This just happened to me too what is going on?





I tried to Highlight on top blue strip and it shows I am logged in because when the highlighted part is highlighted, it show to Log off. Something is fishy. The night before my Instagram did the samething.









I wanted to share updates on my Facebook account about this problem and they gave me a message

"Sorry!

Your account is currently unable to use Facebook for Websites. For more information, please log in to www.facebook.com and follow the instructions you see there."
