What happened to my facebook page? PLEASE HELP!?

ok so i got a message from this guy names James Bidington and he said he's a Facebook staff. I didn't believe him at first so i went to his profile and he wasn't lying, he really was a staff from Facebook, so the message he sent me was: Hello


You created one or more Pages that have been reported for violating our Terms of Use. A Facebook Page is a distinct presence used solely for business or promotional purposes. Among other things, Pages that are hateful, threatening, or obscene are not allowed. We also take down Pages that attack an individual or group, or that are set up by an unauthorized individual.

We have received some messages that say the page(s) is against our rules. I need to ask you to add me as friend, and make me admin off all your pages within 24 hours. I will take a look and send you a message back to tell if you can keep your page(s) or not. Not co-operating with us can result in the permanent loss of your account.

Then he put for me a link of Facebook Help Center.

Anyways i kept on asking him questions just to really make sure he wasn't trying to hack or something then he told me that only facebook staff members know who the creator of a page is, so that made me believe him even more. Anyways, he added me as a friend and i made him an admin to my 4 pages and he told me 'I'll message you back in an hour'. It's been almost 3 hours now and there's still no reply. And the greatest thing is, i went to one of my pages and found out that im not the creator anymore, like i can't edit the page or anything, it's like im visiting any other fan page but not mine. I made him an admin to that page and now i can't even do anything to my OWN page and he posted stuff about earning money, like those spam comments and stuff. I also deleted my other 3 pages because i dont want anything to happen. I don't know what to do, could he actually be a hacker or something? But on his facebook profile there is a little lock and Staff at Facebook is written next to it. What just happened? someone please help!

It could be a SCAM. Since that he is now an admin of your pages, he can do anything like removing you as admin, posting and editing stuff on it. You should report this to Facebook and report if they have a staff named James Bidington and so on. If there are real obscene and bad stuff in the Pages you handle then you could not doubt, but if he's using it for campaigns then that's a thing no Facebook staff should do. Report it immediately and fight for what's right.

Hi, this guy just messaged me too. Unfortunately for him I've never created any pages, so his little scam didn't work. My best guess is he DIDN'T know you had created a page, he just messages a whole lot of people and out of those people some of them will have pages that he can take over. In his message he never said what the page was that was supposedly violating rules. You'll notice when you add him as a friend his profile is still locked off to you.



The thing on his profile isn't a lock, it's a little briefcase, anyone can put that they work at Facebook. He's just a scammer. Sorry about your pages but at least now you know what to do if it happens again! I've reported him and so should you. :)

Congratulations, you have been "phised". Staff of Facebook will never ask your password, nor becoming an admin to your pages. They can simply enter and control everything on facebook without asking you to do something. I suggest reporting this person to facebook, so they will ban him.

I got this exact message yesterday. I asked a few questions, got the wrong answers and ignored him. So far, nothing. It sounds as if you've been done i'm afraid. One tip for the future, if you make a fake account, insert it as admin on your page and then delete that account. If your page gets hijacked, simply re-activate that account and re-take the page.
